Attitude of Gratitude

17 years ago this morning around 11am, I completed a cross country relocation. I arrived in Fort Myers, FL in a one way moving truck, with my art equipment & supplies, 2 suit cases and my dachshund. I had recommitted my life to Christ exactly 30 days prior in Indianpolis, IN. I was holding onto the promises of scriptures and following Jesus, after literally selling my belongings and giving the rest (38 years of material possessions) to The Salvation Army.

I had done my first strip club outreach 2 nights prior, in the club I’d worked off and on for 7 years.

Little did I have any idea how exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond what I had ever dreamed of and asked for, God was going to do in less than 2 decades.

Fast forward 17 years, living on a 5 acre farm (that we own) with horses, cows, chickens, bunnies, dogs, cats, a husband of 16+ years (who is Jesus in the flesh, a man of integrity that loves God and knows the Word like no one else I’ve ever met), a dream come true art studio, a Master of Arts degree, license as a mental health therapist, & ordination serving the populace I asked God for resources to help the night I recommitted my life and serving youth, that I was passionate about serving as a Varsity coach, youth leader and bus driver.

Only God …  I have a lot to be thankful for.

How about you? This is the month notoriously known for Thanksgiving and I decided to take up the challenge to post something daily that I am thankful about. I started yesterday, so I guess technically I have the 1st & 2nd to post, yet. 😏 I’m using my Instagram account to post, which syncs with my Julie the Artist facebook fanpage & Twitter accounts.

Cultivating gratitude and thinking about the things and listing what we have to be thankful about literally fights depression and sadness. It typically makes us feel better = it’s therapeutic, which is why I’d love to challenge you to do it as well, even if you don’t post on social media. Create a list of things to be thankful about. For my creatives out there, how about making journal pages or bullet lists with these? 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s pretty amazing too, when we start developing the list, the list tends to multiply and grow = the greater the positive impact it has on us. After all, attitude … especially one of gratitude … is just about everything. 😉

I’m grateful for you taking the time to read this and would love to hear from you.

Love and praying for you! 😘
